Remember, when you use paste you only need a very little bit! If you use too much you can get a greasy, dirty look, and that is never a look anyone should wear.

Giving a room a "wow" effect

Have you started your spring cleaning yet? I know, you are thinking, "It is still freezing outside!" However, the earlier you start the quicker you get to enjoy that fabulous spring weather once it arrives!


On top of spring cleaning, I am still going through each room in my house and deciding what I could do to make a simple upgrade. Adding crown molding can really make a big impact, and when done right, can make your walls seem taller than they really are. Crown molding also gives you room a touch of elegance!

In addition to crown molding, using wider trim than the standard size can really make a big impact too. I LOVE wider trim, and it can give a modern edge on a traditional style. Of course selecting the style could take time, but you could find additional help online, or go to Lowe's or Home Depot directly. 

The picture above shows wider trim, crown molding, and a taller base. Isn't that fabulous!!! It can really make a huge difference with a nice wood floor, trim, crown molding, and a neutral paint.  You will "wow" your guests, and you will never get sick of this modern elegant style.


I look online all the time for inspiration, and have really found some great pictures of homes and rooms. It is amazing what crown molding can do! Step2!

My kids love the products from Step2. They have such a wide variety of items that the little ones can play with for hours and hours. Their larger items, like the kitchens, are great for the little ones to pretend play.  One of my favorites is the LifeStyle Comfort Kitchen. This kitchen sells for only $99.99, and comes with a 39-piece accessory set! 

This kitchen set is great because there is a ledge for them to stand on the opposite side of the kitchen. Just like their mommy and daddy's kitchen, they can use their own oven, fridge, and stove to make their "pretend" meals. There are hooks to hang their utensils, and cups. As they are preparing their dinner, they can talk on the phone too! The kitchen is very sturdy and durable, and very easy to put together. 

The LifeStyle Comfort Kitchen also has a lot of storage room for all of the accessories and food that comes with it. There are also two electronic sound features on the phone and stove top, which requires you to get 2 AAA batteries and 2 AA batteries that are not included. This kitchen is very easy to clean as well, which is always  a benefit in my book.

Moon Dough!

Spinmaster sells a variety of products. You can get Air Hogs, Liv Dolls, Zoobles, Tech Deck, Pop on Pals, Tron Legacy, Moon Dough, and more. One of my favorites is the moon dough, yes....moon dough. Do not be afraid of mess and little pieces getting stuck in your carpet like play-doh. The moon dough is soft and very easy to clean up. 

The Moon Dough Magic Zoo is a big hit with the little ones. Everyday they ask to play with it, and they will sit for hours creating new animals out of the moon dough. It is very easy for them to do, and they have their animals walking out of the gate themselves! Listening to them giggle over and over from this product is fabulous! The Moon Dough Magic Zoo is one of my favorite products for kids.

The Moon Dough will never dry out, so if a piece does not happen to be put away, don't stress! It will be okay, and will last for your kids to play with over and over again. It is very soft, and wheat-free. There are other products as well that you could add to your Moon Dough collection. There is a Moon Dough Barn, Pizza Kit, Puppy, Diner, Ice cream, Moon Dough Bunnies, and refills if needed. 

This item is great for them to use their imagination. Other than creating animals with the molds provided, they can also create anything they can think of with their little hands. They will  learn while having fun!

Green Toys

Where can you find environmentally-friendly toys that are safe for your little ones? Check out Green Toys to find classic childrens' toys that your little ones will love.

Recycled milk containers are the main ingredient of their toys. So remember, you are helping a company make green toys when you recycle your milk container. You can have the satisfaction that you are doing good for the community, and for a company!

Basement Flooring

Renovating your home can be expensive and very time consuming. If you want to save on labor costs, you can do your home upgrades yourself. However, this can take a lot of your time, and you need to stay motivated to finish the job. My husband and I have laid tile, laminate floor, ripped up carpet, busted up old tile, but the easiest flooring was Get Rung's Interlocking Foam Flooring.

We decided that the basement could be the kid land. We would have an area for a couch and t.v. of course, but all of the kids toys would go in the basement. It really helps on eliminating toys on every level of your home, and the kids will enjoy their area to play. We did not want to spend a lot of money on the basement floor at this time, and Get Rung flooring was soft and cushioned for the little ones.

We used the premium 3/8 interlocking multi-use interlocking floor. You get 24 pieces in one pack, which is 6 2x2 pieces with the borders. The mats are textured on the top, and smooth on the back to have a level, flat surface. You can choose from gray, tan, blue, red, yellow, green, purple, orange, pink, and white. For our project we chose to stick with the gray color since it would not show as much as the lighter colors, and it would match any color we decided to paint the walls. This floor is lead and latex free, and the dense foam can also be found in other products such as the mid sole of a running shoe.

Cleaning the floor in the basement is a breeze! You can vacuum with a suction only vacuum, sweep with a broom, and mop with soap and water! If any part of the floor happens to get messed up, you simply change it out with a new piece! It is that simple. Installation was so easy that our two-year old son was helping. No fuss, there is no mess, and you will like what you have done. Best of all, it is great for the kids!

You can create a custom look, or make it colorful by using different colors. Your kids will be happy, and you will be thrilled with the outcome. You can buy all of your floor through Get Rung, and you will be amazed how quick you will receive your new floor.

New York Fashion Week / Fall 2011

OPI Struts Runway with Top Designers, Including BCBGMAXAZRIA, MAX AZRIA, Hérve Léger, Rebecca Taylor, and Charlotte Ronson*

            OPI hit the runway for New York Fashion Week/Fall 2011, kicking off with BCBGMAXAZRIA on Thursday, February 11. Models were manicured with OPI Nail Lacquer in Samoan Sand, a warm beige with pink undertones.

OPI appeared twice more for BCBG Max Azria Group, Inc., for MAX AZRIA on Saturday, February 13, and Hérve Léger on Tuesday, February 15. MAX AZRIA models wore Samoan Sand as well, while Hérve Léger featured the clay-hued San Tan-tonio.  Additionally, OPI was part of the BCBGMAXAZRIA Runway Survival Kits, given to models during casting and to enthusiastic fans at BCBG stores in Manhattan and online.

For the second year in a row, OPI walked the Fall runway with Rebecca Taylor on Friday, February 11. With models wearing two shades from the just-launched Texas Collection by OPI, Suzi Loves Cowboys provided a rich chocolate hue for fingertips, whileSan Tan-tonio gave a light honey color to toes.

Charlotte Ronson also selected OPI to complement her edgy clothing, with models wearing Samoan Sand during the show on Saturday, February 12. Front-row admirers included Olivia Munn, Sophia Bush, Mena Suvari, and Kim Kardashian.

“OPI was thrilled to walk the runway with so many fabulous designers for New York Fashion Week/Fall 2011,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “As seen by the color selection and overwhelming preference for a neutral palette, nude nails will remain a huge trend throughout the rest of the year. Beige, tan, honey, chocolate, and even grey give fingertips a chic, minimalist look – matching fashions of the same hues or providing a base for brighter, patterned clothing.”

New York Fashion Week 2011

 At Tara Subkoff for IMITATION, Ouidad created a femme fatale, “crazy socialite” inspired look to channel the seductive vibe. Ouidad’s Tress Effects Styling Gel and PlayCurl Volumizing Foam helped shape the soft, 40’s Jane Russell-like curl. The show was held at the Milk Studio Penthouse, and the front row was star studded, evidence of Tara’s huge celebrity following – including Chloe Sevigny, Gina Gershon, Natasha Lyonne, Rose McGowen and Liev Schreiber.

Update Your Closets!

The renovations have begun! We will be featuring great companies again, as well as share with you some great ways to spruce up a house, inside and out. There is no better time to start! Spring is a great time to clean the house, make some changes to your decor or paint colors, and to have fun!

Closets...a closet is obvioulsy  a place where you store items. You have a closet near the front door to hang jackets, put shoes, etc. Some are big, and in my case, closets can also be very small.
