The New York Botanical Garden is a museum that you should visit if you are ever in New York. You will be able to see a variety of beautiful plants, and also be able to learn more by checking out their scientific research organization. Did you know that the Garden was founded in 1891? This fabulous historical landmark has been around quite a long time and you can enjoy it yourself!

Not only are the sights wonderful to see because there are over one million plants, but the educational program that is offered at the New York Botanical Garden is the “largest and most diverse of any botanical garden in the world.” ~NYBG

Just for a little preview before your next visit, here are a few things that you would be able to enjoy:

• 250-acre

• 50 curated display gardens

• Expansive 50-acre native Forest

• Programs & Activities to enjoy for the entire family!

New York Masterpiece” —The New York Times

You can visit the New York Botanical Gardens by purchasing tickets online through their site. If you plan on going in groups or planning a school event, there are numbers provided on their site to accommodate and help you through your planning process. Do not wait! There are spectacular events coming up. The Halloween Hoorah started on October 9 and the last day to attend this event is October 31st. If you are not able to make a trip on such short notice, plan on visiting for the holiday season and enjoy the Holiday Train Show with Gingerbread Adventures. You truly have to be there to enjoy the experience.

While you are there, do not forget to check out the New York Botanical Garden shop! You can find items for all of your needs. My favorite is the garden products. I LOVE gardening, and you need well made products to be able to last while you are constantly digging and digging. Nothing is worse than having something break while you are in the process of planting your Spring, Summer, and Fall plants. Yes, I have been there before, and it is not fun to dig a hole with your hands. I recommend picking up their NYBG Trowel. The trowel is stainless steel, and is great for the home gardener. Even better, is that the product has been tried and tested by the New York Botanical Garden’s horticulture staff, so you can be assured that it is worth the price of $24.00. Or you can purchase at the special member price of $21.60 if you join today!

Becoming a member gives you exclusive benefits that you can enjoy as an individual, or for the entire family. For one person, the cost is $75.00, and you get admission to some of the grounds, however, some of the events may not be included. Other benefits come with this package as well, and even better, you can save on your purchases at their shop. There are also other package deals as well for Seniors, Family Seniors, Family, and more.

The holidays are just around the corner, and there is not time like the present to start shopping! Check out NYBG’s shop to find that special holiday decor, plates, books, and other items that are perfect for hosting or just to have around.
