No One Ever Told Me
No one ever told me…that the man of my dreams would not be my type, but I would go out with him anyway.
No one ever told me…that it could feel this good and hurt this much to be truly loved.
No one ever told me…that being hearing impaired is a mixed blessing.
No one ever told me…how much fun it would be to turn the world off for a blessed moment of peace and quiet.
No one ever told me…that I would be this happy with the little we have.
No one ever told me…I will write a novel (or three).
No one ever told me…forgiveness would come this easily.
No one ever told me…that being a parent is the hardest job in the world.
No one ever told me…that my heart could grow to love another child as much as the first and second.
No one ever told me…that I would have more friends on the internet than I have ever had in my lifetime.
No one ever told me…that they would care about me as much as I care about them.
No one ever told me…I would rather be home with my kids than out singing karaoke with a friend.
No one ever told me…that one day, when I least expect it, I would wake to discover I’ve grown up and become an adult.
No one ever told me…I’d still be waiting for that.
No one ever told me...I'd be a parent to a child with a mood disorder.
No one ever told me...I would get the hang of it.
Because if someone had told me…I wouldn’t have believed them anyway.
